McBride Springs

Situated on the lower slopes of Mt. Shasta at an elevation of 5000 feet, this popular campground has 12 sites with tables and fire rings, suitable for tents and small RV's. Visitors to the campground enjoy access to nearby hiking trails around the slopes of Mt. Shasta. Filtered views of the summit of Mount Shasta, looming overhead, can be seen from the campground.

Panther Meadows

This campground which rests on the slopes of Mt. Shasta at 7,420 feet, is the highest campground on the mountain. Visitors to the campground enjoy wonderful vistas of the surrounding area from the summit of nearby 7,900-foot Gray Butte. Lassen Peak, Castle Crags, and the Sacramento River are visible on clear days. Another trail leads up the side of Mt. Shasta to over 9,000 feet.

KOA Mt. Shasta Campground

This scenic alpine campground and RV park rests at 3,500 feet near the base of Mount Shasta. The cool summers of the Siskiyou Mountains are ideal for hiking, fishing and backpacking. In the winter, enjoy skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling at Mount Shasta Ski Park. This KOA is open year-round and offers Tent Sites and full-hookup RV Sites, Cabins and Deluxe Cabins.

 

Railroad Park Campground

Located alongside gurgling Little Castle Creek at the base of Castle Crags, our 45-unit RV park and campground offer creek-side camping in the tall pines. Our location is easy to get to and from I-5 and is two miles from the Castle Crags section of the Pacific Crest Trail. We’re just off Exit 728 at Railroad Park Road. Splash in the front pond, wade in Little Castle Creek, breathe in the fresh mountain air and relax in the natural beauty of this striking setting. The Sacramento River is nearby for fishing and you can bike through to the historic town of Dunsmuir.

Castle Crags

The majestic Castle Crags have inspired enduring myths and legends. More than 170 million years old, these 6000-feet tall granite spires in the Castle Crags Wilderness border the northwestern edge of Castle Crags State Park. This State Park offers a variety of camping, picnicking, hiking, and fishing opportunities. The park has 76 developed campsites that are each equipped with a picnic table, food locker, and a fire ring.  Flush toilets, showers, and drinking water are available near each campsite. With 28 miles of hiking trails, everyone can enjoy a mild stroll or an invigorating adventure.

 

Castle Lake

This small primitive campground is nestled in a thick mixed conifer forest approximately ΒΌ mile below Castle Lake. There are 6 sites with tables, fire rings and vault toilets. Bring your own water. 3-night limit. No fee. No reservations. Not recommended for large vehicle or trailers. Usually opens around the end of June depending on when the snow melts, and usually is closed by snow around the first of November.

Fowlers

This campground is situated near three waterfalls on the river, which adds to its popularity. The McCloud Falls vary in height from 15 to 50 feet. A river-side trail from the campground provides access to the falls. It is approximately three miles round trip to see all three. Swimming and fishing are other popular activities. This section of river has no special restrictions for fishing. The campground has 39 sites with tables, fire-rings, vault toilets, and piped drinking water

 

Gumboot Lake

The area on the north side of this shallow alpine lake is open for camping from June to October, depending on snow. There are at least 6 undeveloped sites (no tables) with user-created fire rings and a vault toilet. Bring your own water or purify the lake water. Suitable for tents and mid-size RV's or trailers. No fee. Usually opens around the end of May and closes due to snow by the first of November.
