Friends & Family Nature Walk: Sensing the Seasons
Join the Mount Shasta Bioregional Ecology Center for a nature walk where we will practice presence and use our senses to experience the season of Spring. We will learn about the ecology of the landscape in spring and participate in a nature journaling activity. No art or writing experience required for this all ages event. Bring your favorite notebook and writing utensil if you’d like. Materials will be provided.

Shasta Gromduro
Shasta Gravity and Youth MTB are proud to host the 5th annual, Shasta Gromduro for ages 8-18! This race will be held at the 10 Gallon Trailhead near the town of Mt Shasta on the Bear Springs and Steam Donkey trails. It will have 3 stages with a short climb in between stage 2 and 3. With over 90 racers last year, we are anticipating this year to be even bigger!! Awards party to follow at Shastice Park in Mt Shasta.

This beloved annual event is back and better than ever. Children will sample multiple disciplines in acrobatics, aerial arts, juggling skills and showmanship from some of the best performers in the world. Culminating in a short public recital, this 3 day workshop will encourage good stretching and strengthening practices for life long injury prevention while introducing thrilling new skills. Students are broken into small groups based on age and receive instruction tailored to their individual experience level. Whether a beginner or an experienced student, we've got curriculum to challenge and entertain.

Mt. Shasta 4th of July Walk/Run
We’re looking forward to providing a fun, family-friendly Walk/Run again in 2025! It’s always exciting to see families come back year after year and to meet newcomers who are just discovering the joys of this small town celebration. We can’t wait to see you on July 4th for the Walk/Run and for all the delights of a long holiday weekend.
All entrants will receive an original Mount Shasta 4th of July t-shirt (Tech or Cotton) and will be eligible for a variety of wonderful prizes worth over $5,000 donated by local merchants. All registered participants will automatically be entered into the drawing with the chance to win fabulous prizes. All finishers in the 2-mile youth race and 5-mile race will receive finisher medals. Participants will be entertained dozens of talented performers along the walk route.

T-shirts and race bibs can be picked up at Parker Plaza, one block north of the starting line, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on July 3rd and 6:30 to 8:00 am on Race Day. Due to expected crowds, please avoid race day packet pickup if possible!

Prize drawings will take place immediately after the event, during the awards ceremony. You must be present to win!
Safety Notes
Our insurance carrier does not allow wheeled devices of any kind in either race (except wheelchairs). In-line skates, skate boards, bicycles, headsets, and all animals are not permitted in any event (except seeing eye dogs). Baby strollers are permitted in the Fun Walk only.
Pet POLICY
Please leave your pets at home! In California it is illegal to leave a pet unattended in a vehicle when conditions are too hot. Assembly Bill 797 allows concerned citizens to rescue pets from hot cars. City ordinance prohibits dogs downtown during events.

Exit Closures for Race on Interstate 5 - Mt. Shasta City:
Both Central Mt. Shasta exits on Interstate 5 will be closed from 8:00am - 10:00am on July 4th for this event. We suggest avoiding these exits – even before 8:00am.
Our suggestions to enter Mt. Shasta City:
Northbound Interstate 5 – take the Mt. Shasta City offramp (#737)
Southbound Interstate 5 – take the Mt. Shasta City offramp (#740)
Both of these exits will take you into Mt. Shasta City avoiding the area of heaviest congestion expected on July 4th.

The Great Shasta Rail Trail 10k, 30k, 50k
We are so excited for the third Great Shasta Rail trail run! This is a relatively flat course with very nice footing. All distances are out and back. 12 hr cut off for all distances. Starting just outside of McCloud with views of Mt Shasta. Great course for a first go at the distance, or to set a new PR. It is pretty straight forward...literally. Beautiful crisp mountain air surrounded by incredible views. All runners will get a shirt and an after race meal. All finishers will get a finisher medal!
This run benefits the Great Shasta rail trail. It is a beautiful scenic route. We would like to help preserve the rail trail for continued use, and keep its rich history alive. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Shasta is gearing up for our 2nd Annual Thunder on the Mountain Show-N-Shine on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, at Shastice Park over Labor Day Weekend!
Last year, we had almost 170 cars and over 1,500 people come out to enjoy this amazing community event. This year, we’re working hard to make it even bigger and better!
Join us under the backdrop of Mount Shasta for a day filled with classic, vintage, and muscle cars, motorcycles, live music, local vendors, delicious food, beverages, and more! Whether you're a car enthusiast or just looking for a fun day out, it's a great chance to check out some incredible rides and connect with the community.

Mt Shasta Annual Blackberry Festival
The Rotary Club of Mt. Shasta will host the 37th Mt. Shasta Blackberry Music Festival on Sunday, August 31, 2025 from noon - 6 PM.
The event is held at beautiful Shastice Park with spectacular views of Mt. Shasta and plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the scenery. Along with our famous and hugely popular blackberry pie sales, music offerings, and children's games, food and craft vendors will join us in the expanded space Shastice Park provides.
Thanks for leaving your pets at home for their safety and that of festival attendees.
Mt. Shasta Rotary uses the net funds raised from the festival to support a variety of community needs, all tips support the Mt. Shasta High School Interact Club's International Service Projects.

MCCLOUD APPLE HARVEST FESTIVAL
The 10th Annual Apple Harvest Festival will be held on October 12th from 10AM to 4PM on Main Street in historic downtown McCloud.
The festivities begin with an Apple Pie baking competition, where the winner has an opportunity to receive a custom ceramic pie plate from one of our vendors and a gift certificate to a McCloud business. Bring your homemade apple pies to the registration booth no later than 10:45AM to be entered for the panel of judges!

The Gnarly Pints are a dynamic fiddle rock duo from Northern California with a bold and eclectic pub style. Consisting of classically-trained fiddle player / songwriter Emily Nolen and hard-rocking multi-instrumentalist Jake Nolen, the couple have toured with Grammy-winning artists like Kevin Max and have opened for and played alongside internationally-acclaimed acts such as Men Of Worth, as well as several others.

Sofia Claire was musically influenced at a very early age by the music stylings of George Strait, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Kieth Whitley, Randy Travis, Loretta Lynn, Sammy Kershaw and Terri Clarke. Current and later influences include Cody Johnson, Ian Munsick, Tyler Childers, Kylie Frey, and of course Lainey Wilson. Sofia Claire first took the spotlight on her school theater stage, and as the cantor in her church choir. Sofia Claire grew up on country music and dreamed of recording country songs like those artists who inspired her.
Along Main Street you can cruise the vendors, pick an orange friend to take home from the "Pumpkin Patch" up at the lawn of McCloud River B&B, and snap a photo at the cute vignette area. Taste pressed apple juice at the bonafide press in our "Watch & Learn" lawn, also in up at the McCloud River B&B.
Give your full bellies and tired feet a rest while on a nostalgic horse & wagon ride about town, basking in the autumn glory of this quaint haven's changing leaves, crisp air, dainty streets, and friendly townspeople. Children's passes will be available for purchase to include many of these offerings.
Top off the fun-filled day with purchase of a fresh baked apple pie! Pre-orders for apple pies can be made below. Proceeds go directly to supporting our Chamber and its continued functions. The holiday spirit is on display the Saturday before Thanksgiving at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds Holiday Gift Fair. This event will again be completely outdoors! There are more than 50 vendors overflowing with gift ideas for even the hardest to buy for. The Holiday Gift Fair has everything from children's furniture to coffee beans. There is truely something for everyone!

Voena Choir ~ "To unite the world and empower future leaders through music". VOENA Children’s Choir is a professional program, unique because of its no-audition policy. VOENA teaches children ages 5-18 ethnically diverse music, instilling in them an appreciation and enthusiasm for different languages and cultures while cultivating, what director Annabelle Marie calls, the VOENA BIG 3: 1) accept the challenge, 2) be self-motivated, and 3) embrace an ethic for hard work. Do you love the Gateway Trail System? Do you love hiking or biking the trails and listening to all of the birdsong, watching the butterflies float from flower to flower and seeing those beautiful big swaths of purple Sonoma Sage that blanket the side of the trail?
This year we want to focus on some noxious weeds that are threatening the biodiversity of the area above the main trailhead on Everitt Memorial Highway. Come out for a few hours and let’s put a dent in the Musk Thistle that is INVADING that area!

Siskiyou Scenic Bicycle Tour & Greenhorn Gravel Grinder
Two day bicycle festival which has taken place since 1988. Put on by Rotary Club of Yreka. On Saturday May 17th 5 routes- 4 all pavement of 104, 67, 40 and 21 miles, and 1 gravel ride of 59 miles. Sunday May 18th 2 challenging gravel rides of 62 and 39 miles and 1 all pavement ride of 35 miles. Fully supported rides with multiple rest stops, sag wagons and end of ride meals. Join Mount Shasta Bioregional Ecology Center’s Community Education Coordinator, Kayla Marie Figard and Evonne Ellis, MFA in Creative Writing, at Dunsmuir City Park, where we will take flight with inspiration from birds. Celebrate International Migratory Bird Day with a Friends & Family Nature Walk hosted by the Mount Shasta Area Audubon, Siskiyou Land Trust, and Mount Shasta Bioregional Ecology Center (MSBEC). We’ll explore bird language, habitat, patterns of migration, nesting, and bird ID. We’ll have activities for beginning birders and families as well as opportunities for more advanced birders to go deeper. All ages are welcome to this free event. The NorCal Chainsaw Carving Competition is once again going to be held in May, on Mother's Day weekend May 9-11, 2025! It will be held in conjunction with the Mother's Day Outdoor Market.
It will be a very fun filled weekend that you don't want to miss!

Join us for a full day of free activities, presentations, and more on April 26th. Exhibitors, crafts, kid-friendly activities, a water blessing ceremony, food, and more will be held on the grounds of the Mt. Shasta City Park while the presentations, films, and a nature art gallery will be indoors.
We’ll let loose and continue to celebrate Mama Earth later in the evening at the benefit concert at Spring Hill Nursery & Gardens.

Mushroom Hunt
Come Join the Mount Shasta Mycological Society on a mushroom hunt where we will gather mushrooms for our Earth Day Festival booth. This is a fun and educational opportunity to get out into our beautiful forest and build community with those who share an interest in the fungal kingdom. Our goal is to collect a variety of species to identify and display to the public for the Earth Day Celebration on the following day, April 26th.
